Supporting the digitization of endangered artworks and archives in Lebanon is important for several reasons:
Preservation of Cultural Heritage: Lebanon is home to a rich and diverse cultural heritage that includes ancient artifacts, historical documents, and artistic masterpieces. However, due to various factors such as conflict, natural disasters, and neglect, many of these cultural treasures are at risk of being damaged or lost. Digitization provides a means of preserving these valuable artifacts and records for future generations, ensuring that Lebanon's cultural heritage is safeguarded.
Promotion of Cultural Exchange: By digitizing artworks and archives, Lebanon can share its cultural heritage with the world.
Access to Education and Research: Digitized artworks and archives can serve as valuable educational resources for students, scholars, and researchers and facilitate in-depth study of Lebanon's history, art, and culture.
Risk Mitigation: Digitizing endangered artworks and archives can serve as a form of risk mitigation, ensuring that even in the face of adversity, the cultural legacy of Lebanon remains accessible and preserved.
